Our NGO was the first to pioneer Resource Centers for CWSN in Schools, when it partnered with schools for Special Class – an Inclusive Lab./ resource center for Children with Special Needs.
Here’s what we do under these projects :
Running Resource Centers in Schools :
We provide Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, and Special Educators to carry out therapies for Children with Special Needs.
Physiotherapists for children (paediatric physiotherapists) can help children with disabilities to improve movement and function in the body caused by problems with muscles, bones or the nervous system.
The paediatric physiotherapist has specialised knowledge and experience of how children develop and acquire physical skills. The therapist is concerned with assessing, treating and managing children who have a general delay or disorder of movement which may be improved or controlled.
Pediatric occupational therapists play an important role in our communities by enabling patients to participate in meaningful daily activities. When a person’s ability to live independently is hampered by illness or injury, they step in. Occupational therapists frequently specialise in working with a specific patient group, such as older adults, individuals with mental illness, or children and youth, with the goal of assisting their patients in leading more independent and active lives.
A Sensory room is a space designed to help an individual with sensory issues learn to regulate their brain’s negative reactions to external stimuli by developing coping skills for these experiences. In some cases, it may be a whole room, or it can simply be a space set aside in a corner of a larger room. The contents and design of a sensory room or space can — and should be tailored to each individual’s needs because each person with extreme sensory issues will be dealing with different stimuli and have different requirements when it comes to learning to cope with the world around them.
Children are treated for different speech disorders, stuttering, problems pronouncing words, trouble with pitch, volume or quality of speech, and having a limited understanding of words and their meaning. Some children have problems putting words together or use language in an inappropriate way. Others have memory and attention disorders. Some children have problems swallowing, chewing, coughing and refusing food. Additionally, speech therapy may be necessary for a child who has experienced speech impairment due to an illness or injury. There are a variety of reasons why a child may need speech therapy.
Clinical child psychologist is a type of professional psychologist who studies the cognitive, social and emotional development of children. Typically, child psychologists look at development from the prenatal period through adolescence. Some of the traditional areas of interest include genetics, language development, learning disabilities, personality, gender roles, cognitive development, sexual development and social growth.
